Mel Watt Eviscerates HR1207 ~ Ron Paul's Bill to Audit the Federal Reserve

News has broken that Mel Watt, Democratic Congressman from North Carolina, member of the House Financial Services Committee, and chairman of the panel’s domestic monetary policy and technology subcommittee, has eviscerated the bill to audit the Federal Reserve, HR1207. The grass roots who has largely been responsible for the widespread support of this bill feels as though they have been dealt a heavy blow. Clearly, this is part of the process, however based on the stream of comments on www.DailyPaul.com beneath the Bloomberg article posting, the measure seems to have caught many off guard. This is a temporary set back.

There is an expectation for this type of political maneuvering to occur, I think we were hoping it would happen a little later in the process. The good news is that it has brought about the scrutiny of Congressman Watt's record, and his campaign donor list:

Ron Paul, also a member of the House Financial Services Committee, said Mel Watt, has eliminated “just about everything” while preparing the legislation for formal consideration. Since this story broke, Congressman Paul who remains hopeful, has released the following video to his supporters:.

The Rising Cost of Healthcare...

It is no secret that our federal government rarely addresses the root cause(s) of a problem for which they claim to have the fix. More often than not, their actions have caused the problem, and their proposed fix is even worse! The health care reform issue is no different. The party loyalists on the left and on the right are pulling out all of the stops explaining, debating, demonstrating, and shouting what is right, what is wrong, and what America needs. What America needs is to get government out of our lives.

In the melee, it seems once again that one man stands alone. While the others believe they have the answers, Dr. Ron Paul appears to be the only one addressing the root cause(s). In recent interviews and speeches Congressman Paul has suggested that government (over) regulation has created a climate prohibiting the free market, and preventing real competition across state lines. He has also stated on numerous occasions that we must have TORT reform. With government intervention paving the way, these two situations have contributed substantially to the rising cost of health care. Addressing and rectifying these two vital components alone would have a dramatic affect in alleviating the current health care nightmare. Coincidentally, none of the party elite, nor the current proposed federal legislation HR3200 appears to address either of these issues. Interestingly enough, in a recent Fox interview I heard Ann Coulter espousing the very same. Hmmm, I wonder where she got those ideas?

True free market capitalists, Constitutionalists, and Minarchists are reeling over the Fabian Socialist doctrines, Keynesian economics, and central planning that have eaten at the core of our economy over the last 80+ years. Many of us, as disciples of the Austrian School, favor the teachings of Hayek, and Von Mises over the Fabian Socialist Keynes. Like proteges in a karate club, at various skill levels and stages of training, aspiring for the Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell, Tom Woods black-belt, we understand the pitfalls of government intervention and over regulation of any industry or market. As Sensei Woods would probably say, it doesn't take a "Blockhead" to figure it out. We also understand the correlation of the fiat currency system and its devaluation of the dollar a la Federal Reserve. I am sure that no one except our fearless mentors are discussing that paradigm as it relates to the rising costs associated with delivering quality health care.

Somehow left off of the table, there is another lesser known component to the government treachery, trickery or complicity, if you will, that has an incredible affect on health care premium costs. That is state mandates. You see, we already have socialized medicine, even in the private sector. Things are not what they seem. If you have a "private" health insurance plan, you are paying for services that you will never need or use, by virtue of your gender, habits, physical or physiological status. In short, insurance lobbies pressure the pernicious state legislators to require funding for specific ailments, treatments, etc...in the health care policies sold in their respective states. Complicity, duplicity, whatever you would like to call it, with a you-scratch-my-back-I'll-scratch-yours vote, and the stroke of a governor's pen these mandates become law and "we the people" pay the price. I do not have a cleft palate, need HPV screening, breast reconstruction, or mammografication (my word)! But these are a few of the items that I must pay for in Pennsylvania. Liberty Rider, Michael Maresco, on his historic “Ride For Honesty” coast-to-coast bicycle journey, made his way through Southeastern Pennsylvania on Memorial Day. Michael is a man on a mission. Concerned about our nation’s obvious departure from the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, he has set out to educate, awaken, and touch the hearts and minds of as many people as he can. As he traverses this great nation of ours, his message is simple, and clear, our Federal government has grown too big, and too powerful. Continually and ever increasingly, intruding on, and usurping the rights of individuals; and overriding and undermining the power and authority delegated to the states. Michael is not alone in his belief, now, no less than 35 states have introduced state sovereignty legislation invoking the 10th amendment.

Pedaling from county to county, he is reaching out to the highest elected Constitutional authority in the county, the County Sheriff. In all 94 counties that he passes through, the Liberty Rider will be gifting each Sheriff with Sheriff Richard Mack’s book, “The County Sheriff – America’s Last Hope“, as well as, other educational material detailing our country’s plight, and what must be done to re-chart our course and restore limited Constitutional government.

I had the brief, but unique pleasure, of riding about 20 miles with Michael as he set out on Monday morning. Our first stop was a photo-op at the State House in Trenton, then on to PA. We had beautiful weather and spirited conversation as we made our way northwest towards our destination, Warwick County Park, in Chester County, PA.

The day’s ride culminated in a cookout sponsored by the Campaign For Liberty’s members from central and southeastern Pennsylvania. The Campaign for Liberty is a grass roots organization dedicated to restoring limited Constitutional governement, through educational and political activity.

Our guest of honor, Michael Maresco was greeted at the picnic by Chester County Sheriff, Carolyn Bunny Welsh, the only female sheriff in the commonwealth. Sheriff Welsh and her Deputy, Harry McKinney, accepted Michael’ s educational materials and discussed his historic trek. They candidly shared their concerns that echo ours, regarding the dangers from within, that confront us as a nation. There is an urgent need for people to understand the role, and scope of authority of the County Sheriff; the true intent of the founders; the meaning of the Constitution; and the privileges and power that “We the People” have granted to the federal government, not the other way around.

To all that participated (especially my wife, Eileen), thank you and God bless. Read your Constitutions. And when you are feeling like the chips are down, and that the cards are stacked against you, remember Michael’s mantra “pedal, pedal”…Good luck and God speed.

I first learned of Michael Maresco shortly before attending the rEVOLution March in Washington. I have had the pleasure of meeting him several times since, spending time with him most recently in St. Louis.

Michael, the consummate adventurer and traveler, is ready to ride again. This patriot needs and deserves nothing less than our support and hospitality as he makes his way across the country on his "Ride for Honesty", bringing us all a little closer to freedom, and all a little closer together. As many of you know, I pedaled a Schwinn across the country for Ron Paul during the election season. It was very successful in raising awareness for the issues of liberty and for tying together neighboring organizations. I am now planning the second ride and will be traveling from The Statue of Liberty to Alcatraz. The undercurrent message is "Freedom to Fascism", the public name will be "RideforHonesty"

The Israeli Palestine conflict is no different. There are some basic historical facts that the msm will not reveal or discuss. How important they are to finding the truth is up to you.

What Are YOU Going to Do When everything Collapses?

If you are reading this, you have some basic understanding of what is really happening in the economy, the military industrial complex, and the corrupt international banking cartel, otherwise known as the Federal Reserve System. Hopefully, you are fairly well read (still have a pile of reading to do), have done your homework (youtube) and otherwise. You have turned off the main stream media, have listened to the message of the few respectable, honest voices in our legislature, like Ron Paul, and are listening to the words and heading the advice of notable people like Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers, Gerald Celente, etc...The dollar is doomed to fail and the inevitable collapse will come, regardless of what the socialists and communists that have co-opted our government attempt to do. The simple analogy is that, it is like trying to prop up the Guinness World Record house of cards, in a steadily increasing wind. Good luck! You can only manipulate the markets and stave off the inevitable for so long. We will continue to see record foreclosures, loan and credit card defaults, job losses, store closings, more homeless in tent cities, civil unrest, and eventually more government intervention, regulation, and fascist restrictions on all aspects of life, in the name of saving the worldwide economy, and for our security.

My question to you, "What are YOU going to do when the "you know what" hits the fan?! Is your house in order? Have you stocked up on essentials and staples? Have you paid down your debt? Can you weather losing your job? In the event of losing the lion share of your income, can you keep a roof over your family's head? Do you know how to, and do you have a place to grow food? Can you fish and hunt? Can you stay warm through this winter and the next two, or three, or more? I could pose a dozen more questions, but I won't. Hopefully, you get my drift.

The Boston Tea Party revisited...Granny Get yur guns!

Tomorrow, December 16th, commemorates the 235th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Angered by a series of events including The Stamp Act of 1765, The Townsend Acts of 1767, the Boston Massacre in 1770, the colonies were ripe with rebellion.Ultimately, the crown's creation of the monopoly, the East India Company, pushed the colonists to take matters into their own hands, literally. The colonists had refused to pay the levies imposed by the Townsend Acts. They contended that they had no obligation to pay, as they had no representation in Parliament. Ultimately, the taxes were repealed, with the exception of the duty on tea, a daily staple in colonial life. The crown had craftily created the scenario that would allow the East India Company to "dump" low cost tea on the colonies at prices cheaper than they had previously experienced. While this should have been enticing to the colonists, this low price tea came with a hefty hidden cost. By accepting the tea complete with its duty from the East India Company, the colonists would, by default, submit to taxation by Parliament. No taxation without representation. We all know what happened next...

Yesterday, December 14, 2008 I had the honor of attending the Boston Tea Party 2008, organized by the Committees of Safety. The event included a breakfast with the patriotic speakers and about a five hour assembly with each of them sharing their very noteworthy and thought provoking views on the state of our republic. I want to say thank you to the organizers Bob Dwyer and Walter Reddy, the Committees of Safety, Tom the Master of Ceremonies, Mike Nystrom of www.DailyPaul.com fame, and of course all of the attendees. I am proud to have been in the company of these fine patriots and supporters of the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill of Rights. Which are as we all know the ultimate law of the land. Much of the conversation and of course the topic of the speeches given centered around these founding documents and our founding fathers intent. So Much (Mis)information...

I don't really know where to begin. I have been bombarded with misinformation. You have been bombarded with misinformation, from all angles, under assault from all fronts, newspaper, radio, television, movies, video games, music, musicians, socialists, leftists, environmentalists, conservatives, Neocons, teachers, coworkers, friends, family, the internet, corporate advertising, all branches and forms of government....I have spent years researching, learning, ingesting information from so many sources. Studying the founding fathers, the Constitution (the law of the land), governments, war, the origin and the policies U.N. and its affiliates, corruption, NGOs such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the major family foundations, The Federal Reserve, the economy, the rise and fall of nations, socialism, communism, capitalism...Searching for the TRUTH. I have tried to take it all in, and retain everything that i can, good, bad, or indifferent. In the process I have read mounds of documentation, piles of books, watched countless hours of video, had endless discussions, heated debates. Friendships have been forged, and friendships lost.

After all of these years, I have devoted my life to the cause of freedom. And through it all, I am still trying to make sense of the senseless; find reason when there is none, see order in chaos; find the truth between the lies; find hope in the hell of it all. I allocate as much time as I can to educating others, or trying to point them in the direction of the truth. I consider myself to be an optimist, but there are days when I feel as though it is just not enough. For 20+ years I have I packed my brain with historical fact, corroborated by countless sources, and regurgitated it over and over hoping to feed someone's brain other than mine. To pass the it on. Like an unread encyclopedia, I sit on the shelf, loaded, waiting for someone to open my pages so the information can spill out and I can unburden myself. There are days when I wish it, the truth, could all be held up in the light for ALL to see, and compared to the lies. I find myself wanting to shake people awake in public. In the grocery store, when I am discussing the price of pasta with a stranger, as I am filling my basket with the sale of the day. When we get strange looks as we are filling our carts with "necessities", discussing how the prices have shot up, and that inflation is right around the corner, hoping that whoever is in earshot takes the bait and "gets it"...All day, I try. And then, there are days where I just want to be left alone, where I feel like giving up on my fellow man, and just taking care of myself, and my own, preparing for what may come. Preparing for the worst, and praying for the best. it is then that I realize that I must press on, for my children and for yours. I will not stop, I will persevere. And I know, in the end, all that I truly have is my faith, and my family. I pray for their safety, and security but not at the price of our liberties. We will prevail, with God on our side...

Thanksgiving Day has Come And Gone...What Are You Thankful for?

As for me, I am thankful for my family, and all of our blessings, our health, our love for one another, our wonderful life. I am thankful that we are united in our quest for liberty. I believe we owe this renewed desire to secure our liberty, this now or never attitude, in large part to the message of one man. So, I made a sign this Thanksgiving and put it at the end of our driveway. I know there are many who if you read this you will understand were I am coming from...It is the man, but most importantly, it is the message...






The Educational Revolution has begun. Join us and live FREE. Don't fall for the trappings of the controlled mainstream media, or any member of government, or any movement controlled and funded the international banksters or their affiliates, such as the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Brookings institute, The United Nations, The Trilateral Commission, The Bilderberg Group. Know, that EVERY executive branch has been dominated by the CFR since its inception in 1921, including the one that is taking shape right now for president elect Obama.

Know, that both sides of every major military conflict of the 20th century, were in large part, funded by the international banking community. These are the same international bankers that own the Federal Reserve. Please, if not for your own sake, then for your children, stop and think. Do your research, Read the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Then read the Communist Manifesto. If you are not willing to invest the time to read, ask yourself what is your purpose? If you understand what I am saying, and you invest the time to read these critical documents, then ask yourself the following questions. First, which closely resembles the current state of our Federal government? Second, given the choice, which form of government do you choose? And finally, what are you willing to do to change the course of events, and when will you begin?

Remember that in the last century, the rise of communism and Fascism left 100,000,000+ dead in their wake. It ALWAYS starts a gradual surrender of liberty for the sake of security from terrorism, tyranny, or to preserve economic security. In its early stages it wears the face of socialism, or corporatism. In the end, the fear imposed in the process, leaves those oppressed begging their very oppressors for more. Until ultimately, they are controlled by a totalitarian government where those who oppose the oligarchy are exterminated. 100,000,000+ dead, many fighting for the very freedoms that are being stolen from us now, as they were from them then. Many more were just slaughtered or starved without a chance of knowing how or why...This is your chance. Again, I ask you, what will you do to change the course of events? Remember, without your liberties, you are in essence a slave.

End the Fed Rallies a Nationwide Success!!

Philadelphia was a big success!!! We had full cooperation of Philly's finest, they blocked off a lane of traffic, and provided escort for our entire march route (approximately 1.5 miles). Once at the FED, they left us to our own devices for our lengthy protest at the FED building. We had an hour between the end of our protest and the indoor rally at the Independence Visitor Center. We used that time to fan out over a several block area and educate as many people as possible, speaking and handing out 1000+ fliers. What a better place to educate people on the dangers that confront our liberties than the birth place of our nation. As tourists would exit the Independence Mall visitor center they would be greeted at the door by one of our energetic Patriots for a real history lesson! Our line-up of speakers was excellent, and their speeches provocative. We are energized to move this revolution forward! To all my fellow organizers and participants, in Philly, and every other city, thank you and may God bless you all. Keep up the fight!

Saturday, November 22nd, marks the 45th anniversary of the assassination of JFK. It is also the day in 1910, that the Federal Reserve is said to have been conceived on Jekyll Island, off the coast of Georgia. On Saturday, there will be rallies to protest the unconstitutional, illegal Federal Reserve System. Find the city nearest you, join the movement, and bring this destroyer of our economy to its knees! I read an interesting article yesterday or the day before...I don't know. They are claiming that the Alaskan glaciers have grown for the first time in 250 years. Does this mean that Global Warming is actually now Global Cooling? Better call Al Gore and all of the scientists at the IPCC and tell them they will need to redo the documentary...Oh, and Al, we'll be needing that Nobel prize. (b) By revoking subparagraphs (b) and (c) of paragraph 2 thereof.

Housing foreclosures are at an all time high. Retirement accounts are disappearing before our very eyes. We are taxed coming and going. Every day 15 to 30 % of the fruits of are labor are garnished by the Federal government. We pay federal taxes on many of the goods and services that we purchase. As if that was not enough, the Federal Reserve is adding “liquidity” or printing money and injecting credit into the market at an historic rate! That is INFLATION. Ben Barnacle (sp), Federal Reserve chairman recently testified under oath that, “… inflation is a tax”… The bailout packages passed by congress are another form of inflation. And contrary to the doublespeak, these bailouts do not benefit the average American, unless, of course you are a “major” shareholder in an International Bank. Do not be fooled, this is not a Democrat or a Republican issue, the finger pointing is a distraction from the real culprit. The Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, has been given a blank check to bail out his International Banker friends whose policies have created this economic crisis, and then put them in charge of administering the flow of money... Sounds like the fox is still running the henhouse!

The ground work for this economic recession, collapse, depression, (whatever label you want to apply to it) was laid in 1913 when President Woodrow Wilson signed in to law The Federal Reserve Act. The Federal Reserve is not part of the government! It is a private banking cartel. And as a result, we are now witnessing the largest consolidation of financial power in the history of the world.

Just ask Hitler, Mussolini, Mao, Lenin, Stalin, and Pol Pot. Oh Iam sorry, they are no longer with us. Neither are the 40 to 50 Million + that died at their hand, only wishing for FREEDOM.

Hank Paulson's $700 billion dollar "Wall Street Bailout" , now cordially named "Main St. Rescue Plan" easily made it through Senate 74 -25 (Kennedy's Brain tumor could not cast its vote). This "plan" proposes to take the debt of corporations who made bad business decisions, based in large part on flawed but very strategically crafted legislation (The CRA), and have the Government purchae it. Oh, and Senate fixed it , the "plan" while it was in their hands. There are now another $100 billion dollars added, along with a few tax incentives "sweeteners" for business owners. If you make wooden arrows for kids and such. Business owners like me who compete in free markets, will save far less then it will cost initially. And who knows how much once the dollar is worthless.

Ok, so where does it say the government removes your liberties by entering the free market. Thats what I meant and thats what my comment was about. The patriot act is a completely different argument. What was said is that if government steps into the free market, your liberties will come next. My argument is that government has done this all of the time, and hasn't done anything to your liberties in the process, and has shown a profit in the end. The patriot act is a post 9/11 law that surely hurts your liberties(i dont deny this), but show me this in context to the free market. And don't talk about the Feds....but rather show me something that proves the government has removed your liberties, specifically, by intervening in the free market to buy up debt in a move to preserve the economy

First let us define liberty:

1) autonomy: immunity from arbitrary exercise of authority: political independence

2) Personal freedom from servitude or confinement or oppression

You pose the question "Ok, so where does it say the government removes your liberties by entering the free market?"

As soon as the government "enters" the free market, it ceases to be free! First infringement on our liberty.

Every time that the government has done this our liberties HAVE been compromised. I know of no instance of the government profiting from oppressive socialit and fascist bailouts...?

To the contrary, every time that the government intervenes by artificially propping up markets, that creates inflation. When the Fed adds liquidity to the Market, that increases inflation, which devalues the dollar. Ben Bernacke recently admitted while being questioned by Ron Paul that inflation is a tax. A tax is when the government reaches into your pocket. Unapportioned taxes and taxation without true representation is unconstitutional. If an act or a law is unconstitutional, then that encroaches on your liberties protected under the Constitution. If you artificially prop up markets with taxpayer dollars, that increases inflation and further devalues the very dollars that we all work hard to earn. When you do that without our permission that is an oppressive abuse of power. When you nationalize corporate debt, which is exactly what we are talking about with these bailouts, that is FASCISM. Is that not encroaching on my Liberty? It is not about percentages, 1% is too much. There is no acceptable level of oppression. It is the principle of the matter.. .

We are witnessing the greatest consolidation of power in history. So what is the solution? The "Educational Revolution" is on!

I have spent the last 25 years of my life educating myself, and at times trying to educate others about the REAL issues that confront this once sovereign nation. Some time ago, although not entirely, I gave up. Not on educating myself, but on spreading the message of Freedom. For that I am sorry. I greatly diminished my efforts related to trying to educate others about these important issues. I felt that my "words of wisdom and truth" were falling on apathetic, deaf ears. I instead focused my efforts on providing for my family, and growing my business. Life was good. Life is good. Something changed recently. And that is why I must start this blog.

Several months ago an employee/friend of mine sent me an email. I don't recall exactly what it was. I do know that it was provocative, political in nature, New World Orderish...(why do I always capitalize that?) Either way, it set me off, figuratively speaking, and I declared that I could no longer, would no longer be silent. I was going to speak my mind, share the truth, and seek out like-minded thinkers, or slowly over time, create them. For what it was worth. You see, I learned something along the way. In the journey that has brought me to this point in my life, I have made a lot of mistakes, or bad choices. And I have made a lot of good choices. Fortunately, for me, my family, my friends, and my employees, I have made a lot of good choices, and those significantly outweigh the bad. I have tried to make amends for the "sins" of my past. And follow the golden rule, be honorable, mindful and respectful of others. What happened along the way was, I realized that by bettering myself, I gained the respect of others. (I learned from my father "...that respect can not be commanded, it must be earned.") With respect comes influence. We all have it. Some more than others, but I believe we all share the same potential. Its how we handle that potential, and how we choose to use our influence. For good, for self advancement, for the advancement of others, or for evil. I have chosen to use mine for good, for the cause of Freedom, and to educate as many people as I can, before it is to late.
